This is my story of restoring my hope and health with Lupus, from diagnosis to remission, by lifestyle changes and incorporating herbs and spices into my daily life.
If you are reading this that probably means you are suffering from a chronic illness. I also have a few overlapping autoimmune conditions but the main disease that disrupted my life was Lupus SLE, a version that your body attacks itself.
In 2008, after delivering my youngest daughter, I noticed I didn’t heal like my previous pregnancies. I was taking a lot of sick leave from work because of the pain. My mind was always so foggy that my home life with my kids was affected.
As with most Lupus cases, it takes a long time and a lot of different doctors to figure out what’s wrong with you. I ended up in ER with an enlarged heart! It was only then, the lead cardiologist decided to investigate if I had an autoimmune disease.
A series of blood tests confirmed that I had SLE. I was prescribed an endless amount of medications that resulted in a stomach ulcer. That was my pivotal moment I began my journey to search for alternative healing methods.
Here I am nearly 12 years later, nearly medicine free and rarely have any lupus flare ups! I have helped women just like you and me all around the world unlock the self-love that lives inside their lupus experiences and impact their life by building an unstoppable mindset. I am confident I can help you do the same for you just as I did for myself!
I invite you on this journey with me to learn and apply the simple roadmap I’ve created to live a life of vitality with your lupus diagnosis.

One of the highlights of my journey was doing a series of interviews at The Aware Center, a local faith based non-profit community center, for a series called Light of
Faith that focuses on the well-being of our society.
The fact remains that lupus is a devastating and life-changing disease that currently has no cure. That is why I am committed to doing as many interviews as I can shedding light about our disease and showing women can live a full life with it.
I have had the honor to be a guest speaker on national tv shows throughout the year like on Hala Kuwait during Lupus Awareness Month which was also highlighting women entrepreneurship. My most recent appearance was on Good Morning Kuwait explaining my passion for herbs and spices that heal and I got to share with the whole country my lupus remission news due to a lifestyle change commitment with my husband by my side!
Another way I share my knowledge of spices to heal, especially in nutrition, are in newspapers, blogs, and magazines. Over the years I have been featured in City Pages, Khaleejesque, Kuwait Times, and Bazaar.
A great example of my lupus advocacy was being a guest on Lupus in Color Where we discussed my favorite thing, SPICES! We also talked about women of color lupus warriors who do not have readily accessible medical care. For this reason, I feel it is important to offer women an opportunity to listen and make informed decisions about their health. A podcast, Journeys to Belonging dedicated to sharing experiences of guests that offer advice about how to create a sense of belonging within ourselves. I talked about my feelings being diagnosed with lupus and how to connect to myself to heal.
From diagnosis to remission, by lifestyle changes and incorporating herbs and spices into my daily life.
I share with you all that I do while living with lupus and what you can start doing everyday to inspire yours.
The answer isn’t just restricting certain foods, but instead concentrating on nutrient dense foods combined with the healing properties of spices and herbs to hyper nourish your specific imbalances in your diet so you can start healing at a cellular level.
